MV Awards

The MV Awards is an initiative endorsed by the Scottish Government to recognise the contribution made by young people for their volunteering.

MV Awards are available to young people aged between 16 and 25 years old.
Young people receive certificates after completing 50, 100 and 200 hours of volunteering.
50 and 100 hour certificates are signed by the Finance Minister, John Swinney MSP.
The 200 hour certificate is signed by the First Minister, Alex Salmond MSP.

Saltire Awards

The Saltire Awards is a brand new initiative to celebrate and reward Scotland's young volunteers, aged 12 to 25.

It is delivered across Scotland by third sector interface organisations working with young volunteers directly and also with organisations which engage young volunteers.
In 2011/2012 the Saltire Awards are being piloted in 7 local authority areas:

  • Angus
  • Dundee
  • Edinburgh
  • East Lothian
  • East Renfrewshire
  • Falkirk
  • Orkney.

If you live, work or volunteer in any of the other local authority areas then you should look at the MV Awards for young volunteers.
